This site sells merchandise related to pickleball. Pickleball paddles, shirts, jewlery and an instructional DVD.

There are two options for purchasing these items:

Option One: ZZT Sports Ebay Store. Spike makes the paddles and sells them both here and at his Ebay store. ZZT Sports Ebay store offers you the opportunity to pay for your pickleball merchandise with a credit card or PayPal account. If you would prefer to pay for items in the traditional online ways via an ebay store using a credit card or PayPal account, head on over to ZZT Sports.

Option Two: Email Spike. If you are wanting to pay with a check or money order, all you have to do is send an email to Spike detailing what it is you would like to purchase.

Who is Spike?

Spike discovered pickleball after retiring like the many other seniors who you will find on the pickleball courts all over the country. Now Spike is making pickleball paddles for his friends in his spare time.

Spike grew up in Seattle, Washington and has retired to Surpise, Arizona. He spends winters at Happy Trails and Summers in Grand, unless he and his wife Linda are traveling the country in their fifth wheel. Linda and Spike are members of various pickleball organizations and enjoy the game and friendships.

At the beginning of every pickleball game, the score is Player 1:0, Player 2: 0, Serve: 2.

Whenever I see the score 0 0 2, I think to myself, Let's Play!

What is Pickleball

The game of Pickleball was created during the summer of 1965 on Bainbridge Island, in the state of Washington. The original purpose of the game was to provide a sport for the entire family, according to co-inventors U.S. Congressman Joel Prichard, William Bell, and Barney McCallum. How did Pickle-Ball get it's name? Pickles was the family dog that would chase after the errant balls and then hide in the bushes, thus Pickle's ball which was later shortened to the namesake of Pickleball. Initially, families played Pickleball in their backyards on a hard surface, on driveways, and on residential dead-end streets.

Since the mid-1970's, Pickle-Ball has grown and expanded from a family activity game to a net court sport with formalized rules. Now, over 20 years later Pickle-Ball is played in thousands of school P.E. programs, parks and recreation centers, correctional facilities, camps, YMCA's and cooperate fitness centers. By 1972, interest in the game had grown to the point that Pritchard, McCallum and Bell decided to copyright the rules and form the US Pickleball Association. Pickleball, the game that had a mascot before it had a rulebook, was now a real sport.

Though pickleball is played by all ages, it has found its niche in grade school PE programs and senior retirement centers. The first national tournament was held in at a retirement community in Florida that has 36 courts. Pickleball has found its way into senior games competitions in several states. -pickleball.com
